Do you get excited thinking about the details of your trip? As a result of the fact that some people adore it while others despise it, we thought it would be helpful to compile this lovely little post. With this itinerary for a fun and relaxing winter weekend in Boone, North Carolina, which is eventually New Year’s Eve, we hope to take some of the stress out of your trip preparation. We have compiled a list of some of our favorite activities during the winter season, and we have even created an itinerary for you to follow. You can adhere to it as strictly as you like, or you can make adjustments and draw inspiration from it. Just so you are aware, at least one of the days of your trip has already had its logistics planned out by us. So be careful on your travels and enjoy discovering new places!

Make breakfast

It is already 8:00 in the morning, so get up and start your day. If you have young children, we are aware that you will be forced to get up no later than eight in the morning, and that's only if you're lucky and the trip has worn them out. (If we're being honest, you probably won't sleep past six in the morning.) In any case, you should strive to make the mornings of your trip as peaceful as possible. It might be just as challenging to go out to breakfast as it is to prepare anything in the morning on your own. If you are staying in a suite and have access to a microwave, we strongly encourage you to prepare a cheap breakfast so that you can save the money you would have spent on it on lunch, dinner, or other activities. For that, Country Inn and Suites Boone, NC, would be a nice choice.

Get out there and discover

It's becoming late in the morning, and we've got a lot of plans up our sleeves for exciting new experiences. Allow the children to burn off some of their excess energy by going on a vigorous walk through the downtown area of Boone. Always remember to dress in layers. You just made breakfast, so you should treat yourself to a specialty coffee. Espresso News is right in the middle of downtown Boone, and just a few minutes away from Country Inn Suites Boone NC, so I really think you should go there. You may also go on over to Stick Boy Bakery. If you haven't already eaten breakfast, you should grab some of their homemade cinnamon buns to snack on while you wait. They make their own cookies, so if you want to give your children a sweet snack later in the day, you should get a few of their cookies to take with you. Would you like something with a bit less sweetness? Take along a loaf of bread so that you can have toast the following morning or sandwiches while you are traveling.

Center 45

Climb some rocks with the whole family! Take advantage of the indoor climbing (bouldering) terrain that spans 2,000 square feet. The walls at Center 45 are 14 feet high and have different shapes and textures. Center 45 is a great place to go climbing for climbers of all skill levels.

Ten High Country Lanes

Bowling is fun to do in Boone. Nothing beats a game of bowling when the weather outside is frightful and wet in the winter. In addition to that, there is a bar at this bowling alley. A full bar. In addition to that, the menu for the meals is quite vast. Grab a bite to eat for lunch from their menu, or take a stroll down the street to Stick Boy Kitchen, the sister restaurant of Stick Boy's Bakery. It's so close that you could almost touch it.

Turchin Center for the Arts

Explore your artistic side and learn something new by going to the Turchin Center. Visit their website frequently to stay up-to-date on the latest happenings, since there is always something exciting taking place there.

Gem Mining

It is a time-honored tradition. I strongly suggest that you pay Doc's Rocks a visit while you're visiting Mystery Hill. You can also look for nearby hotels in Boone, NC, with mountain views.

Hiking

Hiking, hiking, and more hiking. Did we mention hiking? Away from the Blue Ridge Parkway, anything and everything is fair game. Elk Knob State Park is the place to go if you want to experience something that is a little bit further off the beaten path.

Skiing & Snowboarding

If you are staying at one of the hotels near Appalachia State, then never miss a chance to ski.

If you plan on visiting Boone, NC, during this time of year, you absolutely must go skiing or snowboarding at some point during your stay.

Snow Tubing If skiing or snowboarding is not your thing, then snow tubing might be something you would enjoy instead. For additional details, have a look at what Jonas Ridge Snow Tubing has to offer.

Mountain Biking at the Rocky Knob Bike Park

You should go to Rocky Knob Park if the weather is great, the sun is shining, and you don't mind braving the chill. They have hiking routes as well as mountain bike tracks that stretch for kilometers, and they also have mountain bike paths. Additionally, there is a park, so feel free to bring a lunch and enjoy a picnic there.

What are your dinner plans?

It won't be long now until dinner is ready to be served. It's likely that the children are getting irritable due to hunger. And there's a good possibility you won't feel like preparing dinner if you went out adventuring all day. There are a few suggestions that we have. Put on some warm clothing and take a short stroll up the street to look for some local restaurants. Before supper, you should get a hot toddy for yourself and some Shirley Temples for the children. If you can stand the cool, check out the rooftop, and then make your way back to your warm and inviting suite to finish your drinks.

Walk across King Street and up Depot to get to Lost Province, where you can drop in for dinner. They are a brewery with an incredible selection of food on its menu. Think pizza cooked in a wood-burning oven, salads and sandwiches made with locally sourced ingredients, and more. Additionally, we recommend that you check out The Local or The Cardinal. The Come Back Shack is the place to go if you're looking for something that can be prepared really quickly.
